Workshop 1: Getting Recyclates on the Road – Pathways into Automotive Production
The use of high-quality recycled plastics is a key building block for the transformation toward a circular and climate-efficient automotive industry. But how can recyclates be integrated into vehicle applications on a larger scale—technically, economically, and through close collaboration along the value chain?
As part of the PIAE, Plastics Europe invites participants to an interactive World Café to jointly develop concrete solutions together with OEMs, suppliers, plastics manufacturers, and research experts. In three thematically connected discussion rounds, challenges will be identified, ongoing projects made visible, and new starting points for collaboration explored.
The aim of the workshop is to initiate new project ideas and partnerships that accelerate and systematically advance the use of recyclates in automotive production.
The workshop will be supported by three expert hosts from BASF, LyondellBasell, and MOCOM, who will contribute impulses from their expertise in circular economy, polymer technology, and sustainable material solutions.
Speakers:
- Dr. Mateusz Wielopolski – Deloitte Sustainability & Climate (Moderator)
- Dr. Erik Licht – LyondellBasell (LYB)
- Kurt Maschke – MOCOM
- Bernhard von Vacano – BASF
The workshop thrives on dialogue, changing perspectives, and the active participation of all attendees. It will take place in parallel with the PIAE and is free of charge for conference participants; registration is required. Please contact Birgit Bremer (Birgit.Bremer@vdi.de) to register.
Workshop 2: Material Compliance Testing in Practice – Methods and Best Practices
Legal requirements, OEM specifications, and increasing risks make material compliance a key issue throughout the automotive value chain. But what does an efficient and practical compliance check look like in day-to-day operations?
In this workshop, participants will receive a concise overview of relevant regulations and gain insight into proven methods, tools, and best practices for practical implementation. Using concrete examples, a typical compliance testing process will be worked through and discussed together. The clear focus is on applicability, exchange of experience, and actionable takeaways for daily practice.
The workshop is aimed at anyone who not only wants to understand material compliance, but also implement it safely and efficiently.
It will take place in parallel with the PIAE and is free of charge for conference participants; registration is required.
