Declaration on accessibility
A central concern of VDI Wissensforum is digital accessibility for all users. This is why the topic of accessible websites plays an important role: content and functions should be equally usable for all people without restrictions - in the sense of an inclusive, modern and legally compliant website.
Requirements of the BFSG and the BFSGV and compliance with them
According to Section 3 (1) of the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG), certain services offered or provided by an economic actor must be accessible. Services are barrier-free if they can be found, accessed and used by people with disabilities in the generally customary manner, without particular difficulty and generally without outside assistance. The specific accessibility requirements for services are based on the Ordinance on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services under the Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSGV). The BFSGV contains specific requirements, particularly in § 12 and § 19. For example, the economic operator must provide information about how the service works in a certain way. Websites, including the associated online applications and services offered on mobile devices, must also be designed in a consistent and appropriate manner that is perceivable, operable, comprehensible and robust.
The ‘Web Content Accessibility Guidelines’ (WCAG for short), which are continuously adapted to new requirements, are currently available in version 2.2 and assess the compliance status of a website according to three priorities: A, AA and AAA. The content of vdi-wissensforum.de is accessible to the extent that it ideally fulfils the second priority (AA).

Interested parties can search for the events we offer at www.vdiconference.com and register for them.
There are several ways to search for events. For example, users can enter a search term matching the event they are looking for in the search bar on the start page and click on the “SEARCH” button. Users can also click on the magnifying glass symbol, enter the appropriate search term in the search bar and click on the “SEARCH” button. Users can also click on the buttons for various event topics further down on the homepage to display suitable events. Events can also be filtered by category by clicking on “Events” in the navigation bar. The search results can then be filtered further.
Clicking on the tile with the event or the “DETAILS & BOOKING” button opens a page with further information on the respective event. Click on the “ADD TO CART” button to add the participation authorization to the shopping cart. Via the shopping cart and the “TO CHECKOUT” button, the user is taken to the actual booking process, where he can complete the booking by entering various data (e.g. his participant data and payment data) in successive pages and after logging in. An event can also be booked for several participants at the same time.
