Call for Papers

At the 11th International Engine Congress 2024, the participants agreed that there must be a coexistence of drive concepts, because the transport sector can only be defossilised with a mix of technologies.

This needs to be discussed further in 2025.
As every year, the International Engine Congress offers universities, industry, business and politics the opportunity to present new developments and innovations to an international audience of experts in the form of presentations.

Would you like to present your interesting innovation/result and/or your progress to the Powertrain and Sustainable Fuels community? Then submit your contribution for the 12th International Engine Congress 2025!

Call for Papers and Submission

Please send your submission, stating the main topic (example: submission on the topic of passenger car, main topic 3.2), to feger@vdi.de by June 17, 2024. Thank you very much.

Types of Submission

Your paper can be submitted in the following forms:

A lecture presentation:
If your paper is accepted, you will have the opportunity to speak for 20 minutes in front of the congress audience followed by an additional 10 minutes to discuss your presentation with the participants.
 

A poster presentation (possible only as a research institute):
Your poster will be displayed in the exhibition area. The congress participants will have the opportunity to discuss your poster with you during the breaks.

Submission of abstracts

The abstract (1 DIN A4 page) must include:

  • The title of your paper
  • The name and contact details of the speaker and any co-authors
  • A table of contents specifying the main contents of the paper
  • Classification under one of the subject areas
  • A statement on the innovative value of the work
  • An indication of any prior publications on the subject

The Program Advisory Boards for the congress will decide on the acceptance of the papers based on the abstracts. You should therefore highlight the essential technical content and its level of innovation. The authors of the papers or poster presentations that have been accepted commit to submit a 1-page summary and a manuscript comprising 12-15 pages for the congress documentation by the closing date mentioned below and to present the paper in person. If a speaker is unable to attend, a substitute must be named. The congress documentation will be made available in the download area of our websites and in the digital event platform from the beginning of the event. After the congress, your paper will be published as part of the congress proceedings at Springer Vieweg and on the online platforms Springer Link and Springer Professional.
 

Lecture requirements

  • A 20-minute presentation followed by 10 minutes of discussion
  • Congress documentation in English: a 1-page summary, the manuscript of 12–15 pages, approx. 20 presentation slides
  • Language of the lecture: German or English
     

General conditions

One presenting author per lecture may participate free of charge in the congress.

All deadlines at a glance

  • Submission of abstracts: 17 June 2024
  • Notification of authors: from mid-July 2024
  • Closing date for submission of final manuscripts: 13 January 2025
