During our 7th international Conference on High Performance Plastic Gears experts will talk about the potentials of plastic gears and in which cases they are a better choice than metal gears to transfer power and torque. Experts and professionals provide answers regarding their current state of the art, applications and experiences with high performance plastic gears and give an outlook on what the future holds in store for us. In addition, two exclusive evening events invite to network and exchange knowledge. The conference is an accompanying event to the “International Conference on Gears 2027”.
Embrace the future by submitting a lecture
The design flexibility, reduced noise, potential to operate without lubrication and corrosion-resistance are only some of the economic advantages of plastic gears. Nevertheless, it is important to be familiar with the limitations of plastic gears relative to metal gears. A key issue of the industry is the substitution of metal gears by plastic gears, utilizing the full potential and the advantages of the plastic material without relevant performance restrictions. How to submit an abstract
To submit your abstract, you will need to create an account or log in at https://cfp.vdi-wissensforum.de/frontend/index.php or via the website www.vdi-gears.eu. This allows you to submit and manage abstracts, papers, and posters associated with the International Conference on Gears 2027. Hand in your abstract under the section six Possibilities and potential of plastic gears” until November 20th or send an email to koerber@vdi.de.
We would like to remind all authors of the important dates below.

- Notification of acceptance: End of February 2027
- Final program available in: May 2027
- Deadline for submission of manuscripts (VDI-Bericht): June 6th, 2023
- Deadline for submission of manuscripts for peer
review and publication in the journal

Based on the abstract, the program committee will decide on acceptance and on the order of presentation in the conference program. All accepted authors must submit a full paper to be published in the conference proceedings (VDI-Bericht as an eBook) which have an official ISBN number.
If accepted authors wish their full paper to be peer reviewed, this must be indicated in the abstract. The paper will be reviewed and – if accepted – published in the magazine “Forschung im Ingenieurwesen”. This journal is currently listed in Scopus and Web of Science, with a recognized impact factor of impact factor 1.0 (2024) Participation in the peer review mechanism is voluntary.
