2019 Review
As has become customary, decision makers from across the globe met at PIAE 2018. They used the world’s largest congress about plastics in automotive engineering for an information, discussion and networking platform. This year, the thematic focus was on the demands placed upon the plastics industry by automotive megatrends. There were presentations in the areas of interiors and exteriors, lightweight construction, design and electromobility.
In addition to these high quality presentations, 2019 saw the introduction of 20 interactive workshops for the first time, which brought together numerous participants from various interest groups. Exciting and stimulating discussions about specialist themes further enriched the program and contributed to a fascinating exchange of ideas. A job wall and guided tours through the exhibition were also very well received by the visitors, as was the modern layout of the event.
About PIAE
This event continues to build upon its 40-year success story with around 1,400 participants and 120 exhibitors from 14 countries. Its international focus is reflected in the name as well: now called Plastics in Automotive Engineering and previously known as KIA – Kunststoffe im Automobilbau. This has led to a substantial increase in visitors and exhibitors from abroad at PIAE.
PIAE 2020 will take place from the 25th to the 26th of March in Mannheim
After over 40 years of history, there have been many changes and new elements in terms of formats and spaces in 2019. But we’re not done yet. We’re still working through the feedback from visitors and exhibitors in particular for 2020. This will make the forthcoming PIAE congress a sure fixture with all participant groups.
