Lower the hurdle: Implement a cross-stakeholder Nucleus Ecosystem for Automotive Cybersecurity in CCAM – Call for Action

Automotive Security Testing - Workshop

The international VDI “Lower the hurdle: Implement a cross-stakeholder Nucleus Ecosystem for Automotive Cybersecurity in CCAM” workshop is aimed at cross-industry experts and decision-makers who deal with cybersecurity for cooperative, networked and automated mobility solutions. The central topic of the workshop is how a multistakeholder framework can be successfully established. Low entry barriers should encourage potential partners to actively participate in this process.

Open cybersecurity framework instead of proprietary solutions

Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) enables new, attractive business models for various stakeholders in the automotive sector. However, a prerequisite is that protection against potential cyber-attacks on individual components, vehicle systems or all the infrastructure itself works reliably. OEMs and infrastructure operators still often rely on closed, proprietary solutions. However, to drive the issue of cybersecurity in the CCAM environment in a timely and comprehensive manner, a multi-stakeholder cybersecurity framework that can be shared by all stakeholders is needed.

This international VDI workshop brings together relevant stakeholders to discuss the challenges of a cybersecurity framework and to drive its implementation forward. Among other topics, a roadmap for execution will be developed during the workshop. Participants are encouraged to actively shape the workshop, to present their views and to contribute their own examples from their companies.

This international VDI workshop takes place one day after the 8th international VDI “Cyber Security for Vehicles” conference. If you book both events together, you will benefit from a discounted combined price.

Objectives of the VDI workshop

The objectives of the international VDI “Lower the hurdle: Implement a cross-stakeholder Nucleus Ecosystem for Automotive Cybersecurity in CCAM” workshop include:

  • Identify distinguished partners/stakeholders that share the interest in the deployment of a nucleus Cyber Security Framework with low entry hurdles, driven by information exchange
  • Create a high-level roadmap for the above implementation, simple governance, regulatory, and business processes in a non-safety critical transportation setup, and to continue the action beyond this workshop
  • Discussing the necessary alignment of regulatory and legal frameworks to enable successful business processes for secure collaborative, connected and automated mobility
  • Considering the outlook for further action and the expansion of CCAM activities
